About this Course

Outdoors 101 is designed to give beginner outdoorspeople the knowledge they need to recreate safely and responsibly in the Pacific Northwest. Taught by the city Park Ranger, the class covers topics such as trip planning and preparation, gear selection, the Ten Essentials, Leave No Trace principles, hiker safety and more. Please register in advance to help Ranger Anderson prepare for the class. Drop-ins are welcome to attend as well. A Discover Pass is required for parking near trailhead. Participants will need to bring their own water source and clothing suitable for anticipated weather.
